a whirlwind of inspiration...wow.

So, after three different people recommending Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" to me...I finally picked it up. I was skeptical, everyone said stuff like, "It changed my life...blah blah blah." whatev, right?
haha..RIGHT, is right!
I'm about 2/3 of the way through the book-and it's absolutely amazing. It's all about finding inner peace, and those of you who work in the TV world know it can be hard to do that when you're surrounded by murders, disasters, and all around "bad" stuff. What's changed in me is that I can center myself...put distance between those things now. It's amazing. I still know what's going on, but I'm strangely at peace. Yup, I sound like a crazy spiritual nut. But ya know what? I also feel GREAT. woot.
Here are some of the main points that have stuck with me:

1. you do not become good by trying to be good...but by finding the goodness that is already within' you.

2. illusion will never satisfy. only the truth of who you are, if realized will set you free.

3. when you fully accept that you "don't know" you actually enter a state of peace and clarity that is closer to who you truly are.

4. defining yourself through thought is limiting yourself.

5. authentic interactions become impossible when you lose yourself in a role...i definitely struggle with this.

6. to see one's predicament clearly is the first step toward going beyond it.

7. nothing ever happened in the past that can prevent you from being present now. therefore...the past has no power.

I hope this helps you go into your weekend with a slightly better sense of presence and awareness. Check out the book if you have a chance. Good stuff.

G'night.
